Zepcam to supply 2,000 T2 + bodycams to the Dutch police

ZALTBOMMEL, The Netherlands, 27-Oct-2020 — /EPR DEFENCE NEWS/ — The Dutch police have selected Zepcam, a Dutch pioneer in the field of mobile video solutions for frontline professionals, as the supplier of bodycam systems for police officers. The contract has been awarded as the result of a public European tender. As part of this, Zepcam supplies over 2,000 T2 + bodycams to all units in the Netherlands. The company also provides user training for its bodycams and applications.

***Less aggression***
Research shows that the use of bodycams is a valuable addition to the exercise of police work. Bodycams can have a significant de-escalating effect on the street, for example. Officers wearing a bodycam during a trial were less likely to experience threats and physical aggression. Police officers themselves look positively at the use of bodycams: according to research, 85% of the officers indicated that they felt safer and 73% felt supported in their work due to the bodycam.

“This supplier scores the highest on all points: the user test, the price, the service and, the implementation plans,” says Frans van Vliet, Bodycams project manager. “The reviews show that the T2+ Bodycam from Zepcam is a user-friendly, robust device that is simple to operate.”

“Zepcam has more than ten years of experience with the use of bodycams by frontline professionals,” says Bart van der Aa, co-founder of Zepcam. “Our systems have been used for years by police forces in other countries and by local law enforcement officers in the Netherlands. We are proud to also support the Dutch police. We are looking forward to effective cooperation and expect that the use of our bodycams will make the work of police officers safer, more pleasant, and even more effective.”

New Canadian Security Company Fighting Worldwide Corporate Espionage and Advanced Attackers

Information theft, or hacking, is extremely common in the business world. Companies with the most valuable information are under constant attack and need of sophisticated defense team. The Arc4dia team of experts has years of practical experience in the field of high-level cyber attacks and can help businesses to protect their privacy.

Snow Cover is the main defense service offered by Arc4dia. It is the first cyber security monitoring service truly aimed at advanced persistent attacks. Unlike the plethora of other services claiming to protect organizations against advanced persistent threats (APTs) while relying on the same technologies and people behind Anti-Virus, Arc4dia defense service is built from the ground up to provide a real fight against the advanced attackers using strategic and transparent techniques.

For a company with sensitive information, installing security software is not enough. Hackers constantly evolve, using new exploits to get past stationary defenses. That means a company’s defense strategy must also evolve in response. “We’ve helped clients to get rid of an attacker they didn’t know they had before we came in. The only hint the client had in a span of three years, was that they started losing critical contracts to a foreign competitor” said Roberge, Arc4dia founder.

For a limited time, Arc4dia offers Early Snow Program as a trial for Snow Cover. ESP is a program aimed to organizations that are likely to be victims of advanced targeted attacks. This program is completely free. The main benefits to the program participants: cutting edge 24/7 surveillance, evolving detection and immediate mitigation of targeted threats, and all this in transparent manner that won’t impact the running of your business.

Mango DSP, a leading provider of intelligent video solutions for OEMs announced today the launch of Condor VS-8, a rack-mount 19” 1U eight camera encoder. The Condor VS-8 utilizes Mango’s IVS™ patent pending embedded software to deliver state-of-the-art video and audio streaming while enabling integration of 3rd party video content analysis. These capabilities enable the upgrade of existing analog systems to IP based video surveillance without running new cabling or losing the investment in analog cameras already installed.

The Condor VS-8 is a powerful eight-channel IP Video Encoder designed to transform analog cameras to high quality IP video streams. This industry leading IP Encoder is capable of delivering DVD quality video plus advanced video analytics. The critically acclaimed Mango IVS™ software embedded in the Condor VS-8 is able to capture and encode analog video and audio while actively monitoring cameras for intruders and rule violations. Mango IVS™ provides an easy to use built-in web based interface to control all aspects of video encoding and analytics.

The Condor VS-8 IP supports H.264, MPEG-4 and MJPEG video compression as well as AAC and G.711 audio compression, for streaming digital media over the network. The compressed audio and video is delivered over a TCP/IP network via standard streaming protocols such as RTP/RTSP or HTTP. Each input stream can be encoded at different quality levels for recording and for live view. The image size, frame rate, resolution and bitrates are all adjustable from the remote viewing location.

Mango IVS™ is an open architecture that allows the Condor VS-8 to run video content analysis software from a variety of leading video analytics vendors. Mango DSP’s 3rd party network offers algorithms such as object detection, classification and rule violation detection. Other algorithms include image stabilization, object counting, auto tracking, and face and license plate recognition. Several analytics companies have already signed on to support the Condor VS-8 and will be available in the 2nd half of 2009.

Mango IVS™ enables integration with 3rd party IP cameras, encoders and DVRs. The Condor VS-8 can capture compressed video from the network and apply one of the video content analysis algorithms. The Condor VS-8 is supported by major video management software brands and can integrate with OEM built applications using DirectShow® or RTP server.
